This poster was used as a motivational poster during world war 2. It shows the soldier in the background as he goes into battle. In the foreground we see a ordnance woman working in a factory with a spanner. The tagline “The girl he left behind is still behind him” shows the reader that there is a link between the work the woman does in the factory and the men on the ground.
The woman’s job in the factory is important to the mans work in the battle field. The government at the time was trying to keep productivity high and did so by linking the factory work done by ordnance woman(building bombs etc) with the soldiers in the war.
